CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Rethinking Waste
Looking for ways to turn waste into value is paramount to our success as a species, and is what Toji Compost programs, recycling and up-cycling construction materials into furnishings and art.
Toji's team and guests are encouraged to both protect and learn from our surrounding ecosystem.
Conservation: TOJI and the surrounding community have 2 dedicated nature reserves for wildlife, biodiversity, and carbon capture.
Regenerative Agriculture: Our regenerative, organic food forest is helping to restore health to the soil, to our food, and to the people of our community.
· Reforestation: We plant native plants and trees throughout the property each year to offset the carbon of guest flights and to continue to further balance the human impact on natural resources within our community.
People, Planet, & Profit
We create small business models that lower the environmental impact and elevate the social impact of a company as a part of the business's profit strategy. This balance is paramount in all of our decisions as an ecotourism retreat center, and as a sustainable community.
Sustainable Design
Toji was thoughtfully designed to increase energy efficiencies and decrease water usage with rainwater capture and advanced water treatment plant systems for irrigation.
OG Capitalism
OG Capitalism is a set of principles for life and business that Toji's greater community is applying and evolving to be replicable by other sustainable developers and business owners in the future. These adaptable principles have been derived from the honed processes of natural ecosystems and the resilient teachings of the original forefathers of capitalism. Capitalism used to mimic nature much more than it does today, with mom and pop shops, appreciating the need to minimize waste, etc.
OG Capitalism hopes to guide our community development to serve as a replicable model of a more sustainable and less wasteful approach to capitalism.
A Focus on
our Ecosystem
Conservation
TOJI and the surrounding community have 2 dedicated nature reserves for wildlife, biodiversity, and carbon capture.
Regeneration
Toji tries to implement a regenerative mindset in all of our actions. Regenerating and restoring the ecosystem to it's natural state is a way to not just minimize human impact, but actually reverse it.
Our regenerative, organic food forest is a great example of this philosophy. By reintroducing a diverse set of species to the land, our food forest is helping to restore health to the soil, to our food, and to the people of our community (while also sequestering more carbon into the soil!)
Reforestation
A portion of Toji's income from retreats goes to our reforestation efforts; both internal efforts on our property and via donations to the Maleku tribe. We plant native plants and trees throughout the property each year to offset the carbon of guest flights and to continue to further balance the human impact on natural resources within our community.
Keeping it Human
Quality of Life
Quality of life is paramount for our employees and all community members. Creating a healthier, more rewarding, and more meaningful environment for all living and working in the community is a critical to genuine sustainable development.
Engagement Programs
Toji provides a wide array of continuing studies and engagement programs for our employees and community members. Everything from yoga, CPR and first aid classes, educational nature hikes, and finance classes provide opportunities for personal growth and development outside of general work skills.
Community Service
Toji and our team do our best to be stewards of the greater Parrita community. We have organized beach cleanups and have donated materials and workers to repair local schools Hard work toward a good cause helps connect us as humans and gives our team an opportunity to contribute to the things they care about most.
Immersive Education for
guests
Discover Sustainable Happiness
The broken system of capitalism is one of the root causes of the depletion of both physical and mental health in the western society. The path to a more sustainable happiness begins by connecting with nature and reflecting on what your personal priorities are (not what the algorithm tells you they are). Our programs are designed to help our guests find ways to live more sustainably, but not just toward the environment. We hope to give our guests the building blocks to achieve a more sustainable form of happiness and a more genuine form of wealth.

Tree planting experiences
Reforestation is one of the many positive efforts our global society is implementing to help combat the impact of large companies on our environment. What better way to become a part of the solution and memorialize your experience than by planting your own tree on our land as a part of our reforestation program.
A $150 donation is requested for this experience. Includes tree naming ceremony, and a wooden sign with your tree's name on it!
Circularity and Writing Workshops
We offer a variety of workshops to introduce our guests to some of the concepts of circular economy, and how they can be applied to our businesses or to our daily lives. We offer creative writing workshops that can help you to cleanse, refresh, and reconnect with yourself!
