Future Villages Conference: Building Regenerative Communities
At Toji and Dos Colinas, we believe creating a regenerative future goes beyond sustainable buildings, organic farming, or living closer to nature. It also means learning how to build stronger, more connected communities.
That’s why we’re excited to host the second Future Villages Conference from September 18–20, 2026.
The gathering brings together community leaders, Indigenous voices, organizations, and people working toward more resilient and regenerative ways of living. Over one weekend, participants will share experiences, challenges, and practical knowledge around what it takes to turn a community vision into reality.
Through conversations, shared meals, time on the land, and peer-to-peer learning, Future Villages creates a space to explore both the possibilities and the challenges of building communities that are connected to people, place, and the natural world.
We’re especially looking forward to welcoming Indigenous leaders including Lourdes from the Boruca community and Jorge from the Bröran community, as well as local organizations such as Jacó Impact and Zero Waste Costa Rica.
For us, hosting Future Villages is another way to strengthen the connections between Toji, Dos Colinas, and the wider community of people working toward a more regenerative future.
Green Season at Toji & Dos Colinas
While preparing for the conference, we’re also making the most of Costa Rica’s green season. With a quieter period at Toji, we have more time to focus on maintenance, our Food Forest, and regenerative projects.
We’ve been increasing our farm production, creating biofertilizers, and sharing resources with neighbors. We recently provided compost and biofertilizer to a neighbor building their own greenhouse, creating a simple exchange that supports local food production and strengthens community connections.
We’re also developing Farm Flow, a tool to help us better organize farm activities and improve communication between the Food Forest and the Toji kitchen.
There’s always something growing, changing, and evolving at Toji and Dos Colinas. And we’re excited to share more of that journey with you.
